Enrolment Options

All units are offered exclusively online. There is no campus component.

All units are offered over a 13 week semester.

Part time enrolment: One or two units per semester (standard part-time progression is based on two units per semester).

Full time enrolment: Three or four units per semester.

Course Completion Rules (see below for Unit Schedule, 2012)

Elective Units: A maximum of two electives (total 24 cp) may be undertaken with the approval of the Course Coordinator.

Pre-requisites: Principles and Practice of R&D Management is a pre-requisite for Strategic Issue in R&D Management.

Master of R&D Management (Entry and Exit Award) (144CP)

(This course will be phased out at the end of Semester 1, 2012 and replaced by the new Master of Research Management and Commercialisation - further unit details to be advised)

Core (72CP):

Options (Select 72CP)

A maximum of two electives (total 24 CP) may be undertaken outside the suite designated with the approval of the Course Coordinator. These will normally be postgraduate in level from QUT or any other university subject to normal cross institutional and existing pre requisite constraints.

^Prerequisite for Strategic Issues in R&D Management
#Core for students wishing to exit with a Graduate Certificate award.
*These units may not be undertaken until 24CP have been successfully completed.

Graduate Certificate of Research Commercialisation (48CP)

  • Entry Point providing full credit into the Masters
  • Articulation to the Masters
  • Exit Point from the Masters

Core (12CP):

Knowledge Transfer and Research Commercialisation

Options (Select 36CP):

Graduate Diploma of R&D Management (Exit Award Only) (96CP)

  • Exit Point from the Masters

Options (Select 84CP):

On successful completion of 96CP including Knowledge Transfer and Research Commercialisation students would be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma in R&D Management.

On successful completion of 144 CP including all core units students would be eligible to exit with a Master of R&D Management.

Credit

Registered members of research management societies affiliated with INORMS (International Network of Research Management Societies) will be eligible to receive up to 24 credit points of block credit as the elective component for approved professional development activities accredited with the society and completed during the period of enrolment in the MRDM.

Course Fees

In 2012 the domestic fee per unit is $2600 and the international fee per unit is $2900.
