Enrolment Options

Semester 1, 2009 enrolments AVAILABLE AT QUT ONLY.

All units are offered exclusively online. There is no campus component.

(Units may be referred to as subjects in some universities' offerings)

All units are offered over a 13 week semester.

Part time enrolment: One or two units per semester (standard part-time progression is based on two units per semester).

Full time enrolment: Three or four units per semester.

Course Completion Rules (see below for Unit Schedule, 2009)

Core Units: Core masters level units may not be taken until 24 credit points of other course content has been completed.

Elective Units: A maximum of two electives (total 24 cp) may be undertaken with the approval of the Course Coordinator.

Pre-requisites: Principles and Practice of R&D Management is a pre-requisite for Strategic Issue in R&D Management.

Semester 1

On successful completion of first semester students would be eligible to exit with a Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation

Semester 2

On successful completion of second semester students would be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma in R&D Management

Semester 3

Core

On successful completion of third semester students would be eligible to exit with a Master of R&D Management.

2. Master of R&D Management Part time

Each semester the student is expected to enrol in units equalling 24CP from the offerings listed below.

Semesters 1 and Semester 2

Students are encouraged, where possible, to complete the two core units in semesters 1 and 2 to ensure progression to advanced core requirements.

Core (24CP)

Option (24CP):

On successful completion of 48CP Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation students would be eligible to articulate to the Masters.

On successful completion of 48CP including Knowledge Transfer and Research Commercialisation students will be eligible to graduate from the Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation.

Semesters 3, 4, 5 and 6

On successful completion of 96CP including Knowledge Transfer and Research Commercialisation students would be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma in R&D Management.

On successful completion of 144 CP including all core units students would be eligible to exit with a Master of R&D Management.

Credit

Registered members of research management societies affiliated with INORMS (International Network of Research Management Societies) will be eligible to receive up to 24 credit points of block credit as the elective component for approved professional development activities accredited with the society and completed during the period of enrolment in the MRDM.
