Employability Skills Online - LEAPThese skills are sometimes called graduate capabilities or generic capabilities. Whatever the term, they are all concerned with the acquisition of the sort of skills that employers require of graduating research students. More than 2500 Australian and international research students have taken part in the series of modules on employment related skills that form the Learning Employment Aptitude Program (LEAP). In 2007 LEAP received an award from The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC), formerly The Australian Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, for the outstanding contribution it makes to student learning and experience (in the Postgraduate Category of Programs that Enhance Learning). Working online and with a highly qualified moderator facilitating interaction, the research students have the opportunity to engage in the activities and content of the employment-related modules and to build up relationships with colleagues beyond their home universities. Modules undertaken in the moderated form receive the award of a Certificate of Completion. ATN LEAP Modules cover these Employability Skills
